Auto Injury Treatments

If you’ve been in an auto accident and are experiencing any pain, the Chiropractic Teams of Sylvia and Berkeley Chiropractic Centers in Kinston and Goldsboro, NC can help.

Types of Auto Accident Pain
Auto accidents cause a wide range of injuries. Most often, they fall into one of the following categories:
- Muscle sprains
- Injuries to the spine, chest, or ribs
- Soft-tissue damage, especially in the back
- Pinched or compressed nerves
- Knee or elbow injuries

Symptoms of an Auto Accident Injury
Symptoms come in many forms, but the most common ones typically include:
- Pain, swelling, tension, weakness, or numbness in the back, shoulder, neck, hands, or
feet
- Headaches, blurry vision, or dizziness
- Nausea
- Difficulty sleeping or concentrating

Keep in mind that not all symptoms present themselves immediately. Some are delayed as it takes time for the adrenaline to slow back down. Even if you don’t notice any issues, it’s beneficial to be seen by one of our experienced chiropractors immediately.

Treatment for Auto Accident Pain
Auto accidents cause many complications, but you can recover with the right care and treatment. During your consultation with us, our chiropractic team will develop an individualized treatment plan based on your specific injuries. Most often, this includes
one or more of the following treatment options:
- Spinal Decompression
The process of gently stretching the spine via a specialized, segmented table. This provides relief to compressed nerves and herniated discs.
- Gonstead Adjustment
A very targeted adjustment. Our chiropractors use a hands-on approach to discover the specific source of pain and deliver short, high-velocity adjustments to that source.
- Thompson Drop-Table Technique
An adjustment technique that uses a segmented table. One segment can be lifted up beneath a section of the patient’s body. As our chiropractor applies pressure, the table drops down, along with that part of the patients body. This allows body weight and gravity to enhance the effects of the adjustment.
- Ultrasound therapy
A gentle form of treatment that uses sound waves to reach deeply into soft tissues. It is effective for reducing swelling, pain, and tension as well as encouraging blood flow to improve the healing process.
- Acupuncture
A form of treatment that uses tiny needles to improve blood flow and reduce the amount of inflammation and pain in specific areas. This specialty treatment is offered at our Kinston location.
